Our Deepest Fear
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
... Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinkingso that other people won't feel insecure around you.
... We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
- Marianne Williamson (This is only part of the poem. Look it up and take it to heart!)
"I Like Nightmares, When I Wake Up, They Leave me Deeply Appreciating My Reality."
Wow! This statement, made in the TV show Billions, by the character Taylor Mason, is truly profound, don't you think? If you don't know this character, she is an individual who, through her years of pain and emotional suffering, has developed a sharp-as-steel edge that gives her the ability to be absolutely pragmatic and honest in nearly every situation. Wouldn't our world, or heck, just our lives, be truly amazing if this was how we could all be!?
We must, absolutely must, be deeply appreciative of our realities. Honesty. It is at the very core of our experience here on earth ... and for a truly short time ... we get to live it. Even if you may not believe so. Honesty with both ourselves and our world will keep us away from most nightmares.
So, the next time you've blown your "diet," feel that you are totally alone, or are simply 'not appreciating your reality,' take a walk, think about what is truly real to you, pet a puppy or smell a flower, and say, "Hi!" loudly and with vigor to the FIRST person you see. Whatever it takes to wake you the hell up so that you can again begin appreciating this ... your reality!
The Wounds Of The Past Need Not Define You!
There is truly nothing standing in the way of you creating the body or physical lifestyle you see in your mind's eye! You might think and say to yourself, "I am not desireable," "I could never achieve my dream body," or "I'll never overcome _____!"
I call b.s! I am one, and have trained a number of people who have had very seriously negative backgrounds; including generations of obesity, physical and mental abuse (not the gentle kind but the really, really ugly kind), and years of negative social conditioning.
You CAN! IF you have the courage, patience and desire to live as you may never have. But only if you really have the heart and are willing to consistently show up, be strong and defend you! Defend what you know will make your life shine and believe you can!
Nobody Outworks Me!
This famous quote was, I believe, attributed to the famous bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenneger and has since been used by pretty much everyone who has become a success to any degree.
The question is, is that true? Does anyone outwork you? If so, and I am NOT saying I can do this consistently, try writing down your top five goals, in a notebook every night before bed. Then get your butt in gear, because if you're not outworking everyone else, you're not feeling the joy and excitement of a good challenge and real growth!

Never Fear, Death Is Here!
In Buddhism, death is also a time of rebirth. In Christianity, it's almost always the goal to be 'born again.' So, what, in a nutshell, does that mean!? Well, one take on it is that if we continue to 'be' who we are, then change is not possible. Because, as in filling a glass right up to the top, not one more drop will go in without it dripping down the side. So, let that part of you that holds you back, makes you feel 'less than' or tells you that the weakest parts of you "can't, die!" ... let it go! Because never fear death is here!
Wherever I Am ... I Am Here
How many times have you been driving and then, all of a sudden, found yourself at your destination? Could you even recall all that came in between leaving on your trip and getting there? Probably not. That's because wherever you were, it wasn't where you were! You were ... who knows where. So, if you can recall that experience ... especially recently, dial in, try some mindfulness training, candle gazing or concentration exercises and be wherever you are and not somewhere else ... where you're not!
What Am I Willing To Sacrifice To Truly Achieve Greatness?
Change is best achieved by 'adding' not taking away. By 'adding change' to our lives we can create massive change over time. But even following that precept can often be difficult if we are not truly willing to sacrifice. And not just anything, but those things that are truly not serving us. Overeating, smoking, being too sedentary, etc. are difficult to 'overcome,' but ... if you truly need change and don't just want it, it's high time you start the slow, long and ever expanding awsomeness of self-sacrifice!
